Snipp-It – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Snipp-It ("the Service"), including the Chrome extension, web application, backend APIs, and related content operated by CTR Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use Snipp-It. You agree not to:

  • access or use the Service for unlawful purposes,
  • attempt to disrupt or overload the Service,
  • reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse any part of the Service.

We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time without liability.

2. User Content

Snipp-It processes text and data you provide (“User Content”). You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your User Content. By submitting User Content you grant Snipp-It and its service providers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to access, store, transmit, reproduce, modify, perform, display, and otherwise use your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit User Content and to grant the license above. You represent and warrant that your submission of User Content and Snipp-It’s use of User Content in accordance with these Terms do not violate any third-party rights (including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights) or applicable law.

3. Summaries and Output

Snipp-It uses automated systems to generate summaries and other transformations. We do not claim ownership of summaries or any AI-generated outputs. You may use outputs provided by Snipp-It consistent with applicable law, provided that such use does not infringe the rights of any third party. Outputs are provided on an “as-is” basis and may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsafe for professional reliance. You agree not to rely on outputs as a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.).

4. Copyright Infringement / DMCA Policy

We respect copyright rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and similar laws where applicable. If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, please provide a copyright infringement notification containing the following information: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it on the Service. Contact information for the complaining party (address, telephone number, and email). A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Counter-Notification: If content is removed due to a takedown notice, the user who submitted the content may send a counter-notification under applicable law. If a proper counter-notification is received, we may restore the content unless the complainant notifies us that they have filed a lawsuit seeking to restrain the alleged infringement.

Repeat Infringer Policy: We may terminate access for users who repeatedly infringe copyrights in appropriate circumstances.

5. Accounts and Security

If you create an account (e.g., via Auth0), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risk.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

If you purchase a paid plan:

  • Payments are handled by Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
  • You may cancel at any time; your access continues through the end of the billing period.
  • Refunds are provided only where required by law or explicitly offered in writing.
  • We may change pricing with notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property related to Snipp-It — including branding, code, models, design, and website content — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our intellectual property without written permission. You agree not to remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices on Snipp-It content (including copyright, trademark, or service marks).

8. Service Availability

We provide Snipp-It "as is" with no guarantees of uptime, performance, or continuity. We are not liable for data loss, downtime, or errors.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 3 months (or $0 if you did not pay).

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
